Jozani Forest: Best known for its red colobus monkeys, this forest abounds with these creatures that are endemic to Zanzibar. After visiting the monkeys, you’ll walk across to the Pete-Jozani Mangrove Boardwalk, which entwines through coral thicket vegetation, a mangrove forest, and across a creek. You’ll learn why the forest is crucial to Zanzibar’s ecosystems, providing habitat for lizards, snakes, and birdlife, as well as preventing coastal erosion.

Prison Island Tour: This island is named after the prison that was built in 1893. However, the prison is now owned by a hotel. In addition to the prison, the island is also home to a tortoise sanctuary. During your visit to the sanctuary, you will learn about efforts to protect the tortoises. These creatures have an average weight of 200 kg and many of them are over 150 years old. Moreover, the island is home to a stunning colony of peacocks. For the remainder of the trip, you can choose to either snorkel around the coral that fringes Prison Island and enjoy the marine life or simply relax under the warm sun until you return to Stone Town.

Nakupenda Sandbank Oasis Tour: The breathtaking Nakupenda Sandbank sits about five kilometers from Stone Town in Zanzibar in the Indian Ocean. At low tide, the sandbank rises out of the ocean to create an incredibly lovely oasis in the middle of the ocean. There are coral reefs all around the island, and swimming and snorkeling are wonderful activities to do in the shallow seas along the sandbank.
