Emboo River Camp

Set up on a river bend in the heart of Maasai Mara National Reserve, this is the first fully sustainable eco lodge in the region. Emboo’s vision is "Mataramat enkop pee eramat iyook." which translates to “If you take care of nature, nature will take care of you.” Interestingly, the camp features a hydroponic farm (growing plants without soil, water based solution is used) running on biogas.The restaurant prepares meals using its produce. Guests have access to a spa, gym and swimming pool which are great for a rejuvenating experience. Do not miss out on a horse riding venture through the savannah! You will be delighted to know that there is a major river crossing point of the annual wildebeest migration very close to the camp.

1) River Room These are specially designed rooms with floor-to-ceiling views of the river. The furniture is handmade using natural materials attained by their own team combined with the local craftsmen. Even the showers are designed using gumpoles from the plantation. The en-suite bathroom features taps and showers from the luxury brand named Kenny & Mason. It has been uniquely designed for Emboo. There is a private terrace to enjoy maximum views of your surroundings. In addition, there is a rain shower with open views.

2) River Suite The River Suite offers all the amenities of the River Room with extra privacy and luxury.

3) Studio Surrounded by lush green trees overlooking the river, the Studio is a tranquil space for rebooting oneself. It has a bedroom, bathroom, living room, work area and balcony. It is perfect for writers, photographers, graphic designers, painters and digital nomads. If you are a photographer, editing cum camera equipment is made available. Additionally, expert photographers are hosted to teach you important skill sets.

The property offers wonderful views of the Mara river. You might catch glimpses of hippos, elephants, zebras and much more.

Good - You are in the middle of wilderness and have wildlife coming very close to camp and you might get to see wildlife from your rooms/campgrounds and most likely you can hear wildlife through the night.
