Let us see now what Tanzania looks like in November in detail.
Climate and Landscape
As October concludes, so does the Peak Season, yet the transition doesn't immediately usher in the Low Season. November initiates the short rainy season, characterised by intermittent, short-lived showers. Expect occasional thunderstorms, mostly occurring at night. The advent of rain transforms the landscapes, introducing vibrant greenery. Despite the rain and reduced crowds, all parks and their roads remain accessible.
In November, temperatures range from 16°C / 60°F to 30°C / 86°F, offering a mild climate during this transitional period.
Crowds and Accommodations
November witnesses considerably fewer crowds compared to the peak season, resulting in reduced lodge prices. Despite the intermittent rains, all parks and accommodations are open, offering an affordable and less crowded safari experience.
Serengeti
In Serengeti, witness the Wildebeest migration in the Eastern regions, extending to the Eastern section of Northern and Central Serengeti. As the month progresses, the migration shifts more towards Eastern-Central Serengeti, culminating in the Eastern-Central and South-Eastern regions by month-end.
The park's plains will be adorned with fresh, short, green grass, and the rains will either create new watering holes or replenish existing ones. However, this won't significantly impact wildlife viewing. The grass remains short, ensuring unobstructed views, and the animals continue to emerge in search of water. Spot all your favorite animals, including lions, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, hippos, and more amid this lush and vibrant setting.
Moreover, Serengeti in general remains a great location throughout the year, with Central Serengeti specifically standing out as an exceptional destination. Central Serengeti, known for its famous Seronera Valley teeming with big cats and earning it the name of the Big Cat Capital, offers unparalleled wildlife experiences. Alongside the impressive population of big cats, Central Serengeti is also home to a variety of other animals such as giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, warthogs, elephants, impalas, and more. The classic Serengeti grasslands and stunning kopjes in Central Serengeti provide excellent opportunities for wildlife sightings and memorable experiences in November and throughout the year. Therefore, Central Serengeti remains an excellent location to visit during this time.

Tarangire
Much like Serengeti, in Tarangire, brief daytime rains lasting 15 to 20 minutes may occur, while nighttime showers might persist a bit longer. This prompts the plains of the park to transform into lush greenery, giving rise to new watering holes. Many of these watering holes extend beyond the park boundaries. Consequently, starting from November, some wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and smaller herbivores may migrate outside the park. Nonetheless, a substantial number remains within Tarangire's confines, as the Tarangire River and swamps adequately meet their needs. Spotting elephants, buffalos, giraffes, impalas, lions, and more during a game drive remains a relatively easy and rewarding experience.

Ngorongoro
In November, Ngorongoro undergoes a rejuvenation, as lush green grass emerges from the ground. Like other parks, wildlife viewing remains unhindered by vegetation, allowing for easy spotting of zebras, giraffes, buffalos, and more. Additionally, this period attracts migratory birds, including harriers, wheatears, and kestrels, arriving from Europe and Africa, making it an opportune time for bird enthusiasts.

Lake Manyara
The scenery around Lake Manyara transitions to deeper shades of green, while short grasses blanket the plains, ensuring clear visibility of wildlife. With its resident populations of elephants, giraffes, and lions, Lake Manyara offers an excellent introduction to the trip. For those interested in exploring the flora, enjoying a canoe ride, or relaxing in the hot springs, Lake Manyara proves to be an ideal location once again.

Island Getaway:
Zanzibar
In November, Zanzibar experiences cloudy days and occasional rain, typically gathering towards the middle of the day while mornings remain clear. Despite the likelihood of rain, it's a period with less wind. While not the optimal time for beach activities due to sudden rains, those attracted by discounted prices might find it a worthwhile addition to the trip. Further, despite the unpredictable rains, the light winds create ideal conditions for exploring challenging diving and snorkeling spots. However, if the winds dont appeal to you either, then the least windy regions and the calmest, flattest waters are predominantly found on the southern end.
Pemba and Mafia Island
Pemba and Mafia share a similar climate with Zanzibar in November. However, the islands’ remote and tranquil ambiance, coupled with even fewer crowds, make them an enticing destination for many. November may offer the chance to witness turtle hatchings and explore coral colonies, and even dive with the whale sharks in Mafia.

Southern Circuit
In November, the Southern Circuit of Tanzania transforms into a verdant paradise with intermittent rain showers marking the onset of the short rainy season. Temperatures range comfortably from the low 70s to mid-80s Fahrenheit, offering a pleasant ambiance for exploration. While rains are sporadic, typically occurring as brief afternoon or evening showers, they contribute to the lush greenery that blankets the landscape.
Venturing into the parks during this time reveals a spectacle of wildlife activity. Animals gather around permanent water sources, creating ideal opportunities for sightings. The bush, having shed its denseness from the preceding dry months, facilitates easier animal spotting. This period also welcomes migratory birds from Europe, enhancing the already vibrant birdwatching experience.
Despite the occasional showers, November offers unique advantages for safari enthusiasts. With the shoulder season in full swing, there are fewer crowds, allowing for a more intimate connection with nature. Moreover, reduced demand translates to lower prices for tours and accommodations, making it an economically attractive time to visit.
However, it's essential to consider the potential challenges posed by the rainy season. Wet conditions can lead to muddy and slippery terrain, restricting off-road travel and possibly limiting access to certain areas within the parks. Activities like game drives might be affected, requiring flexibility in planning.
Among the notable parks in the Southern Circuit, Ruaha National Park stands out for its large elephant population and diverse wildlife sightings. Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve) offers a unique safari experience due to its vastness, with good chances of spotting elephants, lions, giraffes, and zebras. Mikumi National Park, although smaller, still provides a rich wildlife experience, albeit with some campsites possibly closed due to rain. For those seeking a blend of mountain scenery and unique primates, Udzungwa Mountains National Park is a captivating destination, although hiking trails can be challenging in November.
Overall, a November safari in Tanzania's Southern Circuit promises a tapestry of natural wonders, from lush landscapes to diverse wildlife encounters, coupled with the allure of quieter surroundings and cost-effective exploration opportunities.

Western Circuit
In November, Tanzania's Western Circuit unfolds into a lush haven amidst the onset of the short rainy season. Similar to the Southern Circuit, this period brings occasional showers with temperatures ranging comfortably from the low 70s to mid-80s Fahrenheit. The rains manifest as brief bursts, usually in the afternoons or evenings, rather than sustained downpours, maintaining a pleasant atmosphere for exploration.
Within the parks of the Western Circuit, vibrant vegetation paints the landscape, although some areas may turn muddy and slippery due to the wet conditions. Off-road travel might encounter restrictions, emphasizing the need for caution during excursions.
Wildlife enthusiasts will find November to be a rewarding time for sightings. Animals gravitate towards permanent water sources, enhancing opportunities for observation. The sparse vegetation from the preceding dry season facilitates easier animal spotting, complemented by the arrival of migratory birds from Europe, enriching the birding experience.
The shoulder season in November means fewer crowds compared to the peak dry season, offering a more tranquil and immersive safari experience. Additionally, reduced demand often translates to more accessible prices for tours and accommodations. However, some activities, such as specific game drives, could be limited due to the rain, necessitating flexible planning.
Chimpanzee enthusiasts will find Gombe Stream National Park and Mahale Mountains National Park captivating destinations, both offering intimate chimpanzee tracking experiences amidst stunning natural settings. While trails might be muddy, the allure of encountering these remarkable primates remains strong.
For those seeking a diverse wildlife experience, Katavi National Park presents an excellent choice. Home to a healthy population of predators like lions and leopards, November offers good opportunities for wildlife viewing, albeit with potential accessibility challenges in certain areas.
In summary, November unveils the Western Circuit of Tanzania in its verdant glory, promising memorable wildlife encounters, serene landscapes, and the allure of quieter surroundings for a fulfilling safari adventure.

hockeymad46 3 day Ngorongoro crater trip Couples
Cannot rate this company high enough. Our experience from enquiry point was first class, very quick to respond to questions and help accommodate our requirements. Very friendly staff and great communication throughout. Assistance with visa application information provided in correspondence and also over the phone. We had a brief the day before our safari which was thorough and gave us the opportunity to ask any questions, our guide Noel was waiting for us the following morning and all though our 3 day safari was extremely knowledgable of the areas we visited and on flora, fauna and wildlife. Noel wanted to ensure we had the best experience possible trying to locate as many different animals as possible, we managed the big 5 and many many more, thank you. We chose a luxury package at Neptune ngorongoro which made our trip extra special. All in all we would not hesitate to use this company again, such an amazing experience, from enquiry, booking, actual trip and feedback after. The staff at Monkey adventures work so hard to make your trip so special, thank you.
